NSDL IPO GMP

Correction — 6 November 2026: We removed an unverified ₹135–₹140 grey-market premium, a suggested ₹940 listing price and claims that lead-manager participation established a favourable investment outcome. This archived article now distinguishes the issuer’s offer terms from speculation.

National Securities Depository Limited’s July 2025 price-band announcement set a range of ₹760–₹800 per share and an opening date of 30 July 2025. The issue was an offer for sale by existing shareholders, rather than a fresh issue raising money for NSDL.

Offer for sale and fresh capital differ

Blooming 9 News explanation: in an offer for sale, shares change ownership and the selling shareholders receive the sale proceeds. That differs from a fresh issue, where a company issues additional shares to raise funds. A large offer therefore should not automatically be described as a capital injection into the company.

What a grey-market figure cannot establish

A number described as a grey-market premium is not the issue price set in the offer documents or an exchange opening price. Adding it to the issue price produces an arithmetic estimate, not a guaranteed trading price. Without a verifiable source, observation time and methodology, a precise premium should not be presented as a dependable indicator.

Likewise, naming the intermediaries handling an offer does not show what a buyer will earn. Readers should distinguish the disclosed mechanics of an issue from claims about demand, valuation and future performance.

This record concerns the 2025 offer. Its subscription window has passed; it is not a current application invitation or a recommendation to buy or sell NSDL shares.
